| The town is dominated by the Woolstenhulme family, who has lived here for generations and comprise most civic leaders. The town's gasoline station and general store, Ken's Kash, was started by Ken Woolstenhulme. The town also features a Mormon church and a hamburger restaurant that is open in summer. The towns of Kamas and Peoa are its neighbors. The Weber River flows nearby.
Oakley is most famous for its annual rodeo, held each year on the Fourth of July weekend. This rodeo, sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, celebrated its 75th birthday in 2005 with the opening of a $3 million, 6,000 seat-arena.
